The protein-energy wasting syndrome, characterized by a decline in body protein mass and energy reserves, including muscle and fat wasting and visceral protein mass pool concentration, is often seen in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and is a strong predictor of adverse outcomes. The prevalence of the syndrome increases with the progression of CKD, in part because of the activation of pro-inflammatory processes, the hypercatabolic state and the decreased appetite. Worsening uremia also renders CKD patients vulnerable to potentially deleterious effects of uncontrolled diets (e.g. higher phosphorous and potassium burden).
A product addressing these needs is currently being developed.
Clinical research of the past decade has shown that specific conditions require specific medical nutrition. According to these scientific findings and based on an approach focusing on patients and conditions we are currently working to identify the specific nutritional needs of many different illnesses in order to develop products which address these needs.

MediDrink Neo is a nutritionally complete, high energy (2.2 kcal/ml), high protein (20 energy %), and low carbohydrate (20 energy %), ready-to-drink liquid sip feed, enriched with immunonutrients (L-arginin, omega-3 fatty acids) to support the immune functions of cancer patients.

Suitable as a sole source of nourishment. Recommended daily allowance is 3–4 packs per day for adults as a sole source of nutrition or 1–2 packs per day as supplementation. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
Shake well before use. Best served chilled. Drink slowly in small volumes.
Storage: Should be stored between 2 and 28 °C. Once opened, store in refrigerator and discard unused content after 24hours.
For enteral use only. Must be used under medical supervision. Not suitable for children under 3 years and patients with galactosemia or hereditary fructose intolerance (fructosemia). Use with caution in children aged 3-6 years.
